Financial Controller (Part-Time)

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly capable, detail-driven Controller who is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data. This role manages the month-end close process and serves as a hands-on leader to the accounting team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
The Controller partners closely with senior leadership to provide meaningful financial insights that support strategic decision-making and business growth.
Key Objectives
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management through evaluation, analysis, and reporting of key data to support strategic decision-making
- Maintain accurate oversight of financial health, including financial statements, budgets, and regulatory compliance
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures within the current economic landscape
- Develop and maintain financial controls and guidelines to safeguard company assets
- Achieve G&A budgeting goals through effective planning, analysis, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with leadership to support short- and long-term strategies through accurate forecasting and financial analysis
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, collections, invoicing, and general ledger management
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation and reporting
- Monitor and maintain internal control policies and procedures related to revenue, costs, budgets, and expenditures
- Collaborate with management to establish and monitor financial and operational benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards (biweekly, monthly, and annual)
- Ensure consistent implementation of accounting policies, practices, and procedures in compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws
- Coordinate with management, tax advisors, and legal counsel throughout the fiscal year
- Analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and executive-level reporting
- Provide leadership and oversight to the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, trust, and productivity
- Manage ERP/accounting systems, including system optimization, upgrades, and process improvements
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, and financial schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Improve payroll efficiency through streamlined processes and innovative solutions
- Actively participate in leadership meetings and strategic discussions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Seven or more years of professional accounting experience, including at least three years in a senior accounting or financial management role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, including financial reporting standards, internal controls, and accounting principles
- Clear understanding of State and Federal Tax Laws
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct preferred)
- Solid understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
- Working knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience managing payroll with a focus on process efficiency and improvement
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
- Proven experience in financial project management and budgeting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience managing, mentoring, and developing staff
Wage: $45.67 to $50.07
Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours vary and are dependent on business needs.
